Creativity and Wellbeing Week goes national!
London Arts in Health Forum and the Culture, Health and Wellbeing Alliance are working together to expand Creativity and Wellbeing Week into a national event, building on its enormous success across London, with over 35,000 people attending events this year. Creativity and Wellbeing Week 2019 will run from 10-16 June 2019. We are encouraging individuals and organisations working with creativity and culture in relation to health and wellbeing across the country to submit public events to the website.
News
New research and practice network for music and health
Music for Healthy Lives has been established by Nordoff Robbins and the University of Leeds. It seeks to develop the evidence base and help connect music practitioners to healthcare providers.
Arts Council England research report on health, wellbeing and criminal justice published
ACE has produced a new comprehensive report to support the process of developing its ten-year strategy. The Culture, Health and Wellbeing Alliance has also published guidance for responding to the strategy.
The report presents evidence on the benefits of music to people living and working in care - describing it as 'essential' to best practice. It also contains practical guidance about how music can be introduced affordably and sustainably.
Studio Upstairs celebrates 30 years
Studio Upstairs was founded in 1988 for people moving out of the psychiatric health system, by providing a supportive community-based environment where members can communicate their experiences through making art. The 30-year anniversary is being marked by an exhibition in Hackney.

The AHSW conference will focus on diversity and inclusion in arts and health. This event is designed for anyone with an interest in arts and health.
Bethlem Art Fair – until 21 December 2018
Bethlem Gallery’s 10th annual open exhibition will showcase work by over 80 artists connected to South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

This new accredited course for arts professionals hoping to devise health programmes will be based in Folkestone and Canterbury from May 2019.
Musica Music and Wellbeing CIC have launched online training for care homes to use meaningful music activities and personalised playlists for residents with dementia.
Creative Bridges International will showcase research and practice in the fields of words for wellbeing and Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes (CWTP).
