End of Life Care: Why the Arts Matter, Symposium

Presented by St Christopher’s Hospice in London is this 2 day symposium exploring the arts in end of life care. Taking place on the 5th and 6th November the symposium will bring together leaders in the field as well as presenting a range of current innovations and important areas of policy, theory and practice.

Procurement in the NHS: ensuring value for money is a one day conference taking place on 15th September in Manchester. The conference is aimed at those involved in purchasing or commissioning in the NHS.

How Doctors Can Close the Gap

How Doctors Can Close the Gap: Tackling Social Determinants of Health Through Culture Change, Advocacy and Education is an event taking place at the Royal College of Physicians on 10th June. The event is open to all, including third sector organisations, and will look at social determinants of health, leadership issues and education needs.

Art at the new Hornsey Central Neighbourhood Health Centre

As part of the Crouch End Open Studios, 8th and 9th May, 9 local artists have donated work selected by the charity Paintings in Hospitals to go on display in the new Hornsey Central Neighbourhood Health Centre. 24 artists are taking part in the Open Studios at various locations in Crouch End.

Music in Health Settings

 

Organised by Musique & Santé and Royal Northern College of Music, ‘Music in Health Settings' is a series of workshops and presentations for musicians working in health settings. Taking place in Paris, but with a working language of English, the programme takes place over five days, 26 - 30th April 2010, and aims to explore both the theoretical and practical competences necessary to carry out quality musical actions in health settings.

Theatre of the Oppressed Workshops

Taking place this March are two theatre workshops facilitated by Adrian Jackson, founder of Cardboard Citizens, a theatre company applying Theatre of the Oppressed techniques in homeless hostels, community centres, schools and theatres to engage and inspire the marginalised.

Springforward Spectacular

The Lambeth-wide arts project Springforward is presenting its annual showcase Springforward Spectacular on Saturday 14th November, 1 - 6pm at Lambeth Academy in Clapham. London Architecture and Exercise Trail

City Slet 01 will be holding the first of a series of architecture and exercise trails within London's square mile on Sunday 8th November, 11.30 - 12.30pm. The trail is suitable for adults of moderate fitness able to jog between architectural sites starting at Postman's Park on King Edward's Street and ending at the Barbican Centre.
